For the past
20 years I have worked with a variety of agencies and non-profit organizations
to help others comprehend their lives and draw insight and fresh perspectives.
In 1988, I began volunteering with the Big Brothers Association, Prevent
Blindness Ohio, the Columbus AIDS Task Force, and the Columbus Ohio
Diabetes Association.
After moving to Los Angeles in the early 1990s, I volunteered as a
group facilitator for the Shanti Foundation, providing emotional support
for an HIV positive men's group. For the past eight years, I also
have led workshops for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center and
the California Men's Gathering in Malibu.
My experience working with various self help groups led me to Imago
Relationship Therapy, developed by Harville Hendrix, PhD. From 2001-2007,
I voluteered and assisted for "Getting the Love You Want"
workshops in Long Beach, California. As a result of my experience,
I was compelled to complete my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology
from Antioch University and graduated in 2006. After receiving my
Master's in Clinical Psychology, I enrolled in the certificate program
with the Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies
and graduated with a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in
2008. In addtion to my training with LAISPS, I am working on my certification
in Imago Relationship therapy with the Pasadena Institute for Relationships
in Pasadena. I'm also receiving in depth training with the Pacific
Gestalt Institute in Los Angeles.
Currently, I am working in West Hollywood with individuals, couples,
and groups. I am a member of Imago Couples International, and the
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. |
